My name is Alex, and I'm the author of Refactoring.Guru.

About a month ago, I contacted you about my new project, GitByBit, a practical, story-driven Git course that you can take right in your code editor. Given the overall doom and gloom among my fellow dev educators, I just wanted to let you know that the project is going well and that people seem to be enjoying it.

The biggest new addition to GitByBit is that the course is now available in four new languages: Spanish, Portuguese, Ukrainian, and Russian. I plan to add a few more localizations before the end of the year. German and French are next on the list. While writing this email, I noticed that course installs and reviews have doubled since I last contacted you. Maybe Git is one of those old tools that will survive the AI apocalypse after all. These days, I use Git more than any other development tool, and certainly more than I did before 2023. As long as I keep Git write operations under my control, it remains a great safety net for AI-written code. I'm planning a detailed guide to Git and AI, covering permissions, secrets, and the workflows where coding agents are most useful, so stay tuned.
